There is no excuse for anyone because the prophets prophesied it and the Lord came and broke the power of it and now we even have the descriptions of what the enemy is like and what he does and how he functions, so there is no reason we can’t defeat the enemy. I say the enemy is very weak – he’s only weak if you live in Christ Jesus. If you don’t live in Christ Jesus, satan owns you and it’s impossible to defeat him. The only way you can defeat him is to live in Christ who has the victory for you if you want it and He’ll teach you how to fight to get it. We are going to look at quite a few scriptures and put them all together in a package. Let’s start in Luke 11:33, No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye: When you look at someone and their eyes are very dark, you know there is a lot of junk in them, because the light of the body is the eye. …therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. When you want to tell whether someone is lying, you can often tell by looking in their eyes. Verse 35, Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. This verse is very important. There are ideas that come that are like a light, but they are not really light, they’re darkness, and that darkness is man’s thinking. I hear a lot of people talk about following their heart, but if your heart has not been cleansed you cannot trust your heart. I was trying to help a young woman one time. She kept wanting to go back to live her old life. I said, you need to start looking at your heart and listening to your heart. She came back to me a couple days later and said, you know, you got me thinking and I know now for sure I should go back to where I came from because my heart wants to go back to my boyfriend (who treated her terribly). All of a sudden I realized it was foolish to tell her to follow her heart when her heart was full of darkness. She thought she was seeing the light but it was still darkness within her heart. But she thought it was a great revelation that she needed to go back to the guy who mistreated her. When you have an idea, you have to go back to the Scripture which is light, and if it doesn’t line up with Scripture then it’s not true light. Verse 36, If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light. How do we know if everything in us is light that comes from God? If we know the word of God and we no longer have a pull or desire to go back to the old life, it’s at that point we can begin to trust that our heart wants just what God wants us to have. If that doesn’t take place then you still have darkness in your heart because you want to go back to the old life, to what your flesh enjoyed. Until you can say I don’t want that anymore, then you can’t trust your heart. There are things that were in me when the Lord called me that I needed to change and today I can think of many changes that took place in my life that I have zero desire to go back to. It doesn’t even enter my mind anymore. That means in those areas there is nothing but light, no darkness at all. But when you still are pulled wanting to go back to an old way that God has helped you come out of there is still darkness there and that darkness has to come out. Jesus said, make sure that your light is not darkness. Darkness is the wisdom of man, but the wisdom of God is eternal, therefore it is light and that’s what you need to see and be able to follow. So He says, if your whole body therefore be full of light, no part of it from the kingdom of darkness, no desire to go back to the kingdom of darkness, and you don’t want to leave the presence of God, then you are getting close to full light of God in you. We are going to look at and talk about the sins of the generations, and I want to make it very clear what the Bible says about those who do not remove the sins of their generations. Verse 44, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them. To walk over graves is to be encountered by unclean and evil spirits. When the disciples saw Jesus, they went home to their families and said, we have found the Messiah. They recognized Him because they were looking for Him and when He began to speak they said, no man speaks like this; it has to be the Messiah. But the religious leaders did not recognize Jesus and they didn’t recognize the sins of their generations. Verse 47, Woe unto you! For ye build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your father: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchers. Back in the Old Testament a prophet was not a popular person, in fact if you were a prophet the chance of you being killed was pretty great. So the struggle you had was that if you prophesied things people liked you could stay alive, but if you prophesied things that the religious leaders were doing and weren’t supposed to be doing they would kill you because they had a system set up, which today we call the swamp; it’s the same thing. The swamp isn’t new, it’s as old as sin in the earth. The children of the religious leaders said, if those prophets would be here today we wouldn’t have killed them. Verse 49, Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation. From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple, verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. The blood of all the prophets, from the time of Abel (all the way back in Genesis 4), to the time of Christ, which was about four thousand years, that all of the sins of their generations will be upon that generation. Can you imagine that? Why would it be that all the sins from the foundation of the world will be required of this generation? He said all of the sins from way back then to His generation will be there. How could that be? The reason is because when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden they began to accumulate sin and there was nothing to take away that sin. God said if you eat of this tree you will die, so spiritually they died from that point on. Even though they were alive they were dead in relationship with God. They had angels who would communicate with them but they didn’t have the fellowship they used to have. God never walked in the Garden of Eden again after they committed that sin. So the sins of their generations were all piled up, generation after generation, because there was no way for that to be broken and removed from their lives, so their lives were extremely hard and harsh. God would show mercy from time to time if they would serve Him, to make it lighter for them, but they still carried all that sin. Then Jesus came, who was ready to die because of the sin of Adam and Eve. He was willing to die so all the sins from the time of Abel to the time of Christ would be broken that you could come out of it. It didn’t lift if off of you, but it broke the power of it. Matthew 23:32, Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. What is the measure of your fathers? It is all the sins of your fathers. Go ahead and do everything your fathers did. Fill yourselves up with all of the iniquities and hypocrisy. 33, Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? If you’re going to live your life and let the sins of your generations stay in you, how are you going to make it to heaven? Is that what it’s saying? How can you escape the damnation of hell if you don’t get rid of the sins of your generations? I know that’s what happened to my father. He tried to keep me from going where God called me. Four times he attacked me, trying to keep me from where he was supposed to go but never went. I want you to get the grip of what Christ is saying here. If you don’t get rid of the sins of your generations it will all come on you and how are you going to escape from being thrown into hell? It’s pretty serious stuff. Matthew 11:10, For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. At that time, there was never anyone that had more power and authority than John the Baptist in the Old Testament. Jesus stood up and said, I’ve come to set everyone free from their generations that want Me and you will be greater than John the Baptist. John had to fight his generations. He stayed in the wilderness, he didn’t eat any food from his generations, he did everything he could to get away from his generations so he could be pure before God, yet he couldn’t even compare to what Christ can give you. Think how much the children of Israel and the prophets labored and fought for you and me to know the spiritual forces. They knew them because it was literally in their life all of their lives. They couldn’t escape it other than God had mercy upon them and relieved them to some degree by every year going to the temple and taking a lamb, dove, or some animal that died in their place for their sin for another year. Verse 12, And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Jesus said, from the days of John the Baptist till now the kingdom of satan is hammering every person who wants Me. Verse 13, For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. The only thing a prophet could do before Christ died on the cross was to prophesy what is to come, but they couldn’t participate in it, they could only see it from a distance. In comparison to the prophets of old, we have it easy, but easy doesn’t always work to your benefit. Having a hard time and a process to get free and to know the freedom you have in Christ is a blessing to you. Verse 14, And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Are you understanding what I’m saying? I’ve never seen it so clear. You see, this great army that God is raising up is only great because of the labor of the prophets and what Christ did on the cross for us to be set free so we can destroy the kingdom of satan in our lives and in the world. For us to brag that we’re going to be the greatest is absurd; it’s foolish. We’re just stepping in the labor of the last of the last and finishing what they are waiting for us to do. They participated in that labor too. Let’s look now at Isaiah 14:1, For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. When Jacob got to the brook after leaving Laban and his wives’ family behind, on his way back the promised land where he was supposed to sojourn, was going to meet his brother Esau who had four hundred soldiers riding on horses. That night Jacob fought with God and he said, give me protection. The angel said, it’s getting daylight. You have to let me go because I have to leave. Jacob said I won’t let you go until you promise you’ll protect me. So the angel, which I believe was the Lord, put Jacob’s hip out of joint and from that point on Jacob limped. He had always tried to do everything himself so the Lord took away his ability to protect himself. If you’re going to serve the Lord, you have to listen to what He says. He put Jacob’s hip out of joint so he was barely able to walk, and was going to meet his brother that he stole the birthright from. But God put such a pleasure in Esau’s heart, his flesh was so pleased with the earth, that he kind of pitied his brother that looked like a bum. Jacob was no longer called Jacob because he wrestled with God and He said, now I’m going to call you Israel. Israel means the chosen one. Jacob went from being called Jacob, which was the potential to be a chosen one, to a chosen one who God made covenant with that He would use his generations to move upon the earth. Verse 2, And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. Isaiah was prophesying what is to come, that the day is coming when those who are held captive by satan will become the rulers over those who followed satan; they will rule over their oppressors. It’s prophesied that after Christ came, from that point on, you will have the power to rule over your oppressors. Verse 3, And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve. In Hebrews it says we are to labor to enter into rest. Isaiah was prophesying that rest. Verse 4, That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! The golden city ceased! The Lord hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the scepter of the rulers. When the Lord died on the cross, He went down into the heart of the earth and destroyed the power of satan and wickedness. He broke the sins of the generations by breaking the staff of the wicked and the scepter of the rulers. The kings had a scepter which means they had the authority over all the people and they did what they wanted to. Jesus broke the staff of the wicked and He broke the scepter, or the power, of the rulers so that you could get free and live in a place of quietness and peace. Verse 6, He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth. Satan ruled over the nations in anger. He was the persecutor but then he himself was persecuted because Jesus took the power away from satan and gave it to those who serve Him. Then in verse 7 it says, The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing. When you take the staff from the wicked and the scepter from the rulers and rule over your oppressors then the earth will be at rest. Verse 8, Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us. That’s the thousand year reign. Verse 9, Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: Who is he talking about here? He’s talking about lucifer. Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. Those that died in the kingdom of darkness came back as unclean spirits. Even though they didn’t have a lot of power they had enough that they could live through their generations and influence the earth. Just like allah today. allah was a person that had a scepter of wickedness that he was going to try to destroy everybody who didn’t serve him. Therefore he’s one of these that was at the heart of the earth who was influencing the whole world to take it over that he could rule the world even though he wasn’t able to come into the physical. In the spiritual realm he was still living in people through his spiritual force. Now, there is no doubt verse nine is talking about a future time because it says in verse 5, the Lord has broken the staff of the wicked and the scepter of the rulers and that didn’t happen until he went down into the center of the earth and defeated satan and darkness. So this was all prophesying what was going to happen. Verse 10, All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? Art thou become like unto us? They are saying, what happened to you, satan? You were powerful and now you are nothing. You’re just like one of us. There is no difference. All of that is because Christ died and defeated satan and took it over. So if you are in Christ Jesus you have great power over all of the enemy. Verse 11, Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. How art thou fallen from heaven, O lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; To narrowly look means they hardly paid any attention to satan because he didn’t hardly have any more power than anyone else now. He was all burned up. You have to understand satan is like a roaring lion. He doesn’t attack unless you run from him. If you stand up against him he runs. He loses any desire to attack you if you are not afraid and that you’ll stand there and look at him. I’ve had that hundreds of times and he cannot do anything. He’s just like a cat – he plays with a mouse because he can take the mouse and not kill it, he’ll take him and move him around somewhere and kind of bat at it and then the mouse will run away so the cat will chase it and it makes him feel big and tough. But if the mouse doesn’t run he loses interest. Or like a bantam hen with her little chicks, and the chicks are just pecking around and the cat is sitting waiting, ten feet away. He’s waiting for them to run because they see this mighty cat, but they don’t pay any attention to him, so after about ten minutes the cat gets up and walks away because the chicks weren’t afraid of it. That’s the way the devil is. You shouldn’t be afraid of the devil because he’s been defeated by Christ and if we are in Christ Jesus we have power over him. We have no excuse not to get rid of our generations. Verse 17, That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. The nations lie in glory. Each one has their own house. They have a set of generations they can live in. That is their house. Every one of the kings that ruled and had power on the earth have a glory. It’s not the glory of God but it’s the glory of man. Verse 19, But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch. The kings of the earth are speaking to satan. They are saying, at least we have a house of glory. We have descendants to live in. …and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. No one will ever know you again. How did satan do that? How did he destroy his own people? He was so rebellious that God had to send a flood and destroy all of the giants that were created from the fallen angels. The fallen angels were satans house. They followed him. He was the leader of the fallen angels that didn’t want God. Satan became so corrupted upon the earth that God said I can’t put up with this any longer, so He sent a flood and all the people were destroyed except those who were not related to satan and his fallen angels. It says Noah’s generations were pure, meaning they weren’t interrelated to the fallen angels that had relationship with earth women that produced the giants. Even after the flood David and his men killed a few giants to finish off destroying the lineage of lucifer. Lucifer has no generations that he can live in today, at least to this point. So he doesn’t have a place for burial, for his house. He’s destroyed it. Verse 21, Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their father; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. At the time this was prophesied there were still apparently a few of the giants left but they were to be destroyed. The reason the children of Israel were moved out of the promise land is because they couldn’t break the power of the generations, so God scattered them all over the country so they wouldn’t be near the graves of their ancestors to try to break that off and most of them didn’t come back. Only a remnant came back. In Daniel 7 they point out four thrones. But under those four thrones were many thrones, because almost every nation served satan through these four thrones. So there were four of the bigger thrones, but the rest were satellite thrones which were all over the world. Daniel 7:9, I beheld till the thrones were cast down…The way you cast down the thrones is to take away their staff and their scepter, which is what God broke so you can take it away from them and then have authority over your oppressors. …And the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as a burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him. In the fiery stream are the souls of God’s people being purified and doing His will. …thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. We know the only people that can have authority upon the earth are those who are alive. That means it’s the end. This verse 9 & 10 prophecy is for us today, that God is waiting until the thrones are pulled down and we take dominion over the oppressors. This fiery stream that comes out from the throne of God are the ones who get saved, one hundred one million people will be saved at the end time. It’s a lot of people. I encourage you to keep studying this until you get in you what needs to happen in your life and that it’s possible to do because God made the way.
