Would anyone like to know how to hear God better? Let’s start in Galatians 3 and begin to see how to hear God. Verse 1, O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you... That’s the first step. Get the witches out of your life and that will help a lot. …That ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? We’ve been doing warfare with the Spirit of Truth and it’s been very interesting as you send forth the Spirit of Jesus, who is the Spirit of Truth and grace. Have you ever heard someone say, “Don’t tell me. I don’t want to hear that?” Your flesh says, “Don’t tell me what I should do. I don’t want to hear it.” So if you don’t want to hear it, you’re not going to seek it. If you don’t seek it, the Spirit of the Lord doesn’t come and speak to you because Jesus came to save your soul and your soul is as filthy rags and your flesh likes filthy rags. I went along going pretty good until I got sick of being in charge. And then it even took over a year before I began to really hear God. I heard Him from other sources, from other prophets that came across my life, but I myself did not hear but just on special occasions. And as I look back, when God spoke to me, or when He came to me in the spirit, it was because I wanted to know something about the kingdom of God. If you’re happy with your life the way it is, there is no reason for God to come to you. He said, I stand at the door and knock. If any man will open his door, I will come in and have supper with him. And so what does it take to hear God’s voice, but that you want to know Him. Because He is the Savior of man, He comes to expose the sin that your flesh loves. So there is a battle there to hear the right voice and to know the difference. That’s why it’s so difficult. If your flesh loves what God says doesn’t qualify to come in His kingdom, you’re going to keep doing it until you begin to hate it. And before you hate it, you won’t hear His voice because you say I don’t want to hear it, and so you can’t. God is a gentleman and He doesn’t force His way into your life. It says to be still and know that He is God. Be still. That means, listen quietly because when I speak I don’t scream at you. I don’t holler at you. I don’t knock you over the head to get your attention. But if you want Me to speak to you, you have to quiet yourself and I will speak in a quiet still voice. When Elijah was in the cave, the winds blew and the rains came and God wasn’t in any of it. And then the Lord came to Elijah in a quiet still voice. And He said to Elijah, what are you doing here? He said, “Well I was faithful to you and I did what you asked, and then jezebel came after me and I barely made it away…” But everything he said was backwards from what happened. He had a great victory but he didn’t stand and confront jezebel. God said, since you didn’t take care of her I’m going to anoint someone that will. And so let’s look at this again. O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? When we reject the cross that Jesus died for us, Paul says we crucify Him all over again. He dies again for you. Verse 2, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? How did you receive the Spirit? How did the Spirit of Truth come to you? Was it by law, or was it by faith? Verse 3, Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Why would someone quit the life of the Spirit to go back to the flesh and go back to religion of the law? Why would you do that? Well if you miss the life of the flesh you will have opportunity to return to it. There are two ways you can look at the flesh. Either you miss the life of the flesh and want to return to it, or you look at the flesh and see how wicked it is. That reminds you never to go back to the flesh. When you are learning how to go deeper into the Lord you have to have a hate for the works of the flesh. We have to get in our spirit that the human race has been wicked since the fall of man, and that all are deceived and the only way to come out from deception, or being bewitched is to hate that life. And so if we started by the Spirit, and that is, truth setting us free, we need to continue that way. Jesus comes to set us free and when you get to the place that you find something that is there in you that is exposed by the light of Jesus and if you don’t say, “Yippee! Now I can be free,” you still love it. And as long as you love it you’re going to be tormented, and you’re going to be deceived, and you’re going to be bewitched, but you want to hear God? You can’t hear God in that. You can hear your bewitched people speaking to you. But you can’t hear God. God only speaks to you when you want to get free of the world. My people hear My voice and they go run after the devil. No they don’t. They follow Me and I take them to green pastures and quiet waters. Don’t you think that kind of lines up? Verse 3, Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? When you go out somewhere that you haven’t been for a while and you see the wickedness of the people you are thankful that God moved with His spirit of Truth to set you free. At the time it’s hard. But if you love Him it’s not hard to go through the process of having it removed, or whatever it is that needs to take place in your life to be free, because once you’re free it’s kind of like a woman that had a baby. I’ve heard already of women, 3 weeks after they had the baby say they would be ready for another one. Maybe not right away, but they would be ready. Once the baby comes and the joy is there it isn’t hard to forget it and go through it again. It’s the same way with our removing of the flesh that God might come near us to release the Spirit of Truth. And we can see, we have visual evidence of what happened, when we began to pray to the Lord to release the Spirit of Truth, and for those that want Him, to release grace. Those that don’t want Him, release truth to show them who they are and the misery that they are in because they yet don’t qualify for grace, which proves to me that not everyone has grace that thinks they have grace. They have grace with the devil. He won’t bother them if they love the flesh and they’re caught in it and they’re already going to hell and they don’t even know it. So Paul says, are you made perfect because of your flesh? Verse 4, Have ye suffered so many things in vain? If it be yet in vain. When truth comes and God says it’s time to get rid of something, there is a suffering that you go through. The fight of dying to your flesh to give it up… When you get old there are things that you have to give up doing and when you give them up you know that you will never pick those things up again. And for someone that likes to work and do things and be creative that’s a hard process. But for Christians that have to give up the world, there is a great future ahead of you in that. It’s not like getting old. It’s like being brand new and starting all over again even though it is hard at times. Verse 5, He therefore that ministereth unto you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, I can’t tell you how many miracles I’ve had. Miracles of God setting me free. It’s a miracle, because you can’t do it. …Doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? If we believe by hearing the word of God, then the word of God comes to us. What is the word of God? His voice. His word is His voice. Doesn’t His word speak? Sure it does. His word speaks to you. Verse 6, Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. You have to understand that Abraham’s father made idols; things of worship other than the Creator. He lived in that. And we think, oh, well back then there weren’t many spirits or things to fight, but Abraham lived in a house of spirits. He hated them. He hated them so much that when he became 75 years old God said, Get up and get out of here. And Abraham believed God and because he believed God He gave him the power to overcome it. Verse 7, Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. Get up and get out of there. That’s what Abraham was noted for. He obeyed God by faith and got up and got out of there. Verse 8, And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. God said all the nations of the earth will be blessed because of Abraham. God looks for those who are willing to get up and get out as Abraham did. Verse 9, So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. If you have faith, you are in the bosom of Abraham. Get up and get out and be separated from the world. Abraham still had to deal with the world, and he had to pull a few shenanigans, but God never condemned him for it. Verse 10, For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: Think of all the community people around here that are in law. …For it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. You’re cursed because I said don’t covet. Don’t want what someone else has, but you do. So you’re under the curse. You’re not fulfilling the law. Verse 11, But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. The just; those that are just are ones who treat people right. If you treat people as you want to be treated then you’re just. Why do you have to live by faith to be just? Because the only way you can live without coveting is to have faith that God will give you your provision. And if you don’t believe that, you’re not going to be just. You’re going to look to try to rip somebody off. That’s what a thief does. He doesn’t live justly. The wicked left think wickedly. They accuse to get their way. I even read a little article that said, the republicans want us to stay bitter and angry by what they are doing. Hello? Maybe you ought to look and have the spirit of Truth come to you to see maybe what you are doing. But they don’t. They live in darkness. They see what you are doing and it’s not what they want so therefore you’re destroying their world. Verse 12, And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. If you live by the law, you have to be in the middle of it and do it. Verse 13, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. The Spirit of faith in Christ Jesus, He is the word and if you have faith in the word, the word will come to you and speak to you and give you light to see who you are and what you need to do. Isn’t that what you want to hear? That’s how you do it then. Hate your flesh and have faith that God will come to you if you cry out for Him. Even if He doesn’t come right away you’re saying, Thank you Lord for causing me to go deeper and deeper and deeper, and in that deepness I’m letting go of the world and letting go of the world. It’s kind of like the guy who has stones in his bucket. The more stones you take out of that bucket the more water it will hold. If you would dump all of the stones out you would have the full measure of water that you could put in that bucket. But if you had a stone that was big around about the size of a gallon, you would have one less gallon of water that could fit in that bucket. But if God would do a work in you and get rid of that stone you would have the full measure of what God wants to give you. So the longer He leaves you go to empty your bucket the better off you are when it gets filled. That’s the way I always looked at it. Lord, You’re not coming to me. I know that I have to empty out more. I would go lie before Him and cry out, Lord, I want you and that’s it. And lay there and give up. Lord, I want Your Spirit to come on me. Nothing else. Protect me as I open my heart and give up to You. I yield to the Spirit of the Living God. The Creator of all things. The Father of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. And I ask you to come and give me direction. I need to get out of this place. And if you cry out with that heart you’ll begin to hear the Lord in a whole new level and a whole new way. Verse 15, Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that is should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. What is a transgression? It’s going somewhere where you’re not supposed to go. We have no trespassing signs everywhere and if you go you could be liable to a fine. Man went places where they weren’t supposed to go. The only way they could go to those places where they weren’t supposed to go is that satan’s kingdom allowed them to do it. But if mankind would have kept the dominion then transgressions would have never been on the earth. We would have never went where we weren’t supposed to go because we didn’t know good and evil. But because we ate of the tree of good and evil through Eve, from that point on we knew places that we could go. It’s kind of like breaking the innocence of a small child. We break their innocence at an extremely young age now. Today children at a very young age are taught at public schools the choices they have that come from the tree of good and evil. Verse 20, Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. Abraham didn’t receive his righteousness by obeying the law. He received righteousness because he had faith. Righteousness is the power to get out of where you’re at. Righteousness is knowing truth and truth sets you free. And so you can’t say “I don’t have the strength to get out of what my flesh wants.” If you had faith God would give you the power of righteousness to get out of it. Verse 22, But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. Faith is given through Jesus Christ to those that believe that Jesus is the Savior of their soul. And to believe you have to let Jesus be in control of your life so that He can carry you out of and lead you as a Shepherd leads you to green pastures. And if you don’t let Him lead you to green pastures you’re still going to stay in unbelief and under the law. Verse 23, But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. As long as we were under the law, we didn’t have faith and if you don’t have faith then you’re shut up in the law trying to fulfill through your own fleshly energy and you can’t do it. You can’t defeat your flesh by your flesh. When Judge Kavanaugh was finally confirmed we stopped and said, “Thank you Lord.” It wasn’t done by our might or our power but it was done by the Spirit of Jesus who is truth, and truth prevailed. Even though he had to go through a crisis in his life because he had an open door of his youth that had to be closed up, and it was closed up. He made the statement, the things you wicked democrats are doing to me, what you sow in the wind you will reap in the whirlwind. And he prophesied his own destiny. He sowed in the wind in his youth and he received the whirlwind as a result. He had to pay the price that he wouldn’t have had to pay had he not gone to do what he did as a young man. There wouldn’t have been a whirlwind in his life. But there was a cause for the whirlwind to remove and to pay the price of what he did. Paul paid the price. He tells all the things that happened to him; shipwrecked three times, whipped, and he went on with all the things that happened to him. Why did he have to go through that? Because he had open doors of his past that had to be closed and they were. That’s why it’s important for children to obey their parents in their youth so they don’t have to go through and close doors that are open because of their rebellion. You have to reap what you sowed. I don’t care what you’ve done. A woman that has a child out of wedlock and then gets saved, and does God come and take the child away because now she’s a Christian? No, she still has to work hard, find a place to live, providing for her and the child, and on and on, all the things that she has to do because of her past sin that she pays a price for. Just like if you jump off a building. If it’s not too high, you may just break some bones, but you will have the effects the rest of your life because of that accident. It’s easier to love the Lord at a young age and not open the doors of the flesh and have parents not open doors for them. Verse 22 again, But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. The promise of faith is given to you. You can’t earn it but if you believe, God will give you the promise of faith, and He’ll build that faith to move mountains. Verse 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. So Paul said, when I was young I was obeying the law. And yet he went out and killed Christians because he couldn’t hear God. Verse 25, But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster, For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. This points to those that are saved. You are a child of God and a child of God is in the kingdom of God and a child of God is saved. By faith in Christ Jesus. If you have no faith in Christ Jesus are you saved? How can you be because He’s the one who saves your soul. You have to have faith in Christ and if you have faith in Christ then the fruit of that is being delivered from the world. Hate the world and cling to that which is good. That kind of blows up the idea of being saved and then being able to do what we want and God not rejecting us. Verse 27, For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. To put on Christ is for the world to see Christ in you. We are clothed in Him. Being set free, heavenly minded, on a journey with the Lord. Verse 28, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Part of my faith in God is how He caused me to be His very own. It wasn’t easy for Him to change me because I was set. But by the time the Lord was done with me the Lord had done such a work in me that I was ready to hear Him. At first He spoke to me through prophets because I had not yet put Christ on me, so therefore I needed a prophet to tell me what needs to take place. And I had a trail of them for a little while until God put His Son on me and then I heard for myself. If you will let go and if you will cry out for the knowledge of God, His word will come to you and teach you. So if you want to hear God to get direction, every time you hear a voice you will have to discern if it’s God or not. But if you are not brainless and store how He spoke and what you felt like when He spoke and you knew it was Him, then you can discern. Jesus said My sheep hear My voice and they follow Me to green pastures and still waters. That is a perfect place for a sheep. The choice is yours. The opportunity for is waiting for every person to hear God greater. And when you can hear Him, you’re a whole lot more useful to Him.
