When God’s people rise up in righteousness and have faith that they can come out of where they’re at then God can help them. A host is many people doing a certain thing. When it talks about host in the Bible, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a good host. We want to look at it in the scripture so we can get a better understanding. Let’s look briefly in Genesis 32:1, And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God’s host. In this case it could be the army, or just a protection, but Jacob recognized right away that it was God’s host there with him. At times Jacob was very bold and at other times he was very scared. He was afraid most of the time. He was afraid of his brother and he called him his lord, trying to appease him so he wouldn’t kill him. At this time Jacob was still called Jacob and not Israel. He was getting ready to meet his brother. God’s host was with him there, yet he was fearful and went on with his scheme of trying to please his brother. His brother wasn’t impressed at all. He said, I don’t need that stuff. I have all I need. Jacob really became fearful when he found out there were four hundred horsemen coming with his brother and he was the leader. Just because the Lord of hosts is where you are doesn’t mean you’re going to feel comfortable. You have to learn to have faith in God to have peace, knowing that He is the Lord of hosts who is going before you to make a way for the word that’s in you to be accomplished. It’s extremely important or you’re going to have a hard time getting anything done, because by yourself you can do nothing. Jesus said without Me you can do nothing, but with Me all things are possible because the Word will make the way. Who is the Word? Jesus. Getting rid of the generations is not an easy thing. But if you don’t labor to get rid of that it’s going to haunt you all your days. It will rob you of wealth in heaven and even being able to get there. There are only two kingdoms; there is no third kingdom of you doing it yourself. You will either do it by the works of God or by the works of satan in you. There isn’t any other way. God made it that way. We give Him an understanding of who we are by what we choose. That’s how He tells. He doesn’t want weak people around Him. He wants strong people that have faith in the God of heaven that created all things with His Son. The Lord of hosts is not easily obtained. But here we see that God’s angels were protecting Jacob. The God of heaven came to make him into a nation along with his grandfather and his father (Abraham and Isaac). Jacob didn’t have an easy task. One of the hardest things to do is push out the kingdom of satan in your life and in this world. It took Jesus to break the power of it because man could not do that by themselves for four thousand years. In the midst of half of that, God wiped out all of the human beings except for eight people and they still couldn’t do it. Within a very short time satan had control of the earth again. But Jesus is the Lord of our host. He visited Abraham and He told Abraham, you’re lord of heaven and earth. Abraham looked at Him and said, no, You’re Lord of heaven and earth. That was a marriage that took place between Abraham and Melchisedec because together they saw an opportunity to begin the process of destroying wickedness upon the earth. At the end of Jacob’s life he said, my grandfather and my father had it easy. All they had to do was walk through the land and look at it and God told him this is going to be yours. Isaac just took the promise from Abraham and gave it to Jacob. That’s all he did. Then Jacob came along. It could have very well been that Esau could have been in the place of Jacob to take on the promises and have a great wealth in eternity but instead he had great wealth upon the earth but none in heaven. He found no favor with God because he did not hold precious what God had given him. If you’ve ever tried to help somebody and they just didn’t want it, you come to a place where you say, that’s it. I’m not going to do it anymore. That’s the way God was with Esau. Deuteronomy 17:1, Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavoredness: for that is an abomination unto the Lord thy God. A blemish in an animal was not what God created. He created everything perfect. The reason there was a blemish was because somewhere along the line satan interfered. I still believe that’s the way it is today. Many of the blemishes people have are not their responsibility; it was in their generations somewhere. We can stop the blemishes from happening by following God and being under His protection. Then those kinds of things will not happen. satan will try to find anything he can to go back in the generations and try to destroy everything God is doing. satan tries to set things up to bring discouragement to us and destroy us. It’s continually there but the God of hosts protects us. The Lord of hosts is laboring to remove those kinds of openings where the enemy can come in and bring destruction. It comes from our generations but we can overcome because Christ will make us whole and complete if we just let Him. It’s not a blemish on you if you’ve had something like that happen. satan always comes after the best that we have. That’s what we’re dealing with now to make us a holy people. God doesn’t want blemishes as gifts to Him. Verse 2, If there be found among you within any of thy gates which the Lord thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the Lord thy God, in transgressing his covenant, And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; The host of heaven is the sun, moon, stars, and fallen angels which have taken over authorities in the heavens. So that’s the host of heaven that sounds like God, but it’s not. It’s satan with many fallen angels in the heavens; worshipping the created instead of the Creator. Verse 4, And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. In the Old Testament all they could do was wipe the people out. Today we are under grace and we can be forgiven and get back in a right place with God. Joshua 5:13, And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so. When the Lord of hosts shows up it is holy ground. The fear of the Lord should be in the midst of us. We don’t know how to honor like they did back then because if they didn’t honor someone that had authority they would just be killed. We have to learn to walk in that realm of honor, knowing that when we are in heavenly places we are walking on holy ground. God is holy and He requires His host to be holy too. 2 Kings 7:1, Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; thus saith the Lord, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. The enemy was gathered around Israel. Elisha was the prophet at that time. Verse 2, Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof. They were starving and some people had died already and Elisha came and said tomorrow you will buy food for pennies. Verse 3, And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. They were going to die either way, so what did they have to lose? Verse 5, And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life. When has that happened since then? It happened again during the six day war. The Israelites were sitting there with rifles and Egypt had tanks. The Israeli soldiers decided to start firing at the tanks, thinking they had nothing to lose anyways. They started firing at the tanks, bouncing their bullets off the tanks, and the Egyptians in the tanks became so fearful they jumped out of the tanks, took their shoes off, and ran home. So back in 2 Kings, God put fear in them and they took off and ran. The Lord of hosts did the whole thing. Elisha prophesied and then the Lord of hosts led the angels (or the army) down there to make the noises and put fear in them and they all ran home. They even left their horses. Verse 8, And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it. Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household. So they went and told everybody in Jerusalem. At first they all thought the Syrians just set an ambush, so they sent 5 men out on horses to make sure. The went out and saw that they were gone and came back and reported. So the one who didn’t have any faith got trampled in the entrance to the city and he didn’t get anything just like it was prophesied. When their judgment was complete, the Lord of hosts went before the children of Israel and scattered the Syrians. The judgment of not having food broke something in them and then He opened it up and they had all the food they wanted. Jeremiah 8:1, At that time, saith the Lord, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves: In those days they would lay the dead body in a room which was usually hewn out of limestone. When the next person died in that generation they would gather the bones from the last person and put them in a clay box and set it to the side. Then they would lay the other body in there and let it decay until there was nothing but bones and they would gather them and put them in a box. So it wasn’t a hard thing to take out the bones like he is talking about here in Jeremiah. Verse 2, And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth. And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the Lord of hosts. Some of the Israelis didn’t have faith in God and they didn’t want Him. So He is pulling out the generations from the commonwealth of Israel. He is pulling them out that they will never inherit anything. Verse 4, Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord; Shall they fall, and not arise? Shall he turn away, and not return? Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. God wants to heal the perpetual backsliding in your generations but it can only be done according to your faith. He doesn’t just wipe it out. He said, I’ve taken all these bones out of the generations so they will not inherit anything. They cannot do anything to you because they’ve been removed from the prosperity and the hope of the future. Verse 6, I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. That’s what a lot of people say today. What have I done that I am wicked? God is laboring to finish up a work in your generations so that they will not be able to rise again. He wants you to begin a generation of righteousness and holiness. How is that done? The only way we can get there is to die to this world. Isaiah 3:1, For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water. Because the children of Israel fell back and worshipped all the host of heaven, God took away the promise (the stay) of bread and water. One of the greatest warfares you can give a person is to take away their water and their food. It works. I’m not sure what is going to come on America, but whatever it is, the United States will be consumed by wickedness because wickedness is like fire that burns and consumes. Verse 2, The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient. The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable. Verse 10, Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. When judgment comes, if you gave wicked fruit you will get wicked fruit and if it was righteous fruit you will get righteous fruit in return. Verse 12, As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. The wicked that are in your generations are working to cause you to err and to destroy the way of your paths. You have to understand they are not being nice to you, nor do they care about you. They just want to own you. Verse 13, The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses. That’s what is happening to the United States. The leaders of our nation want to take all of the wealth, and the little the poor have, and put it in their own houses so they can live like kings. That’s what we are fighting right now. Isaiah 5:13, Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Scripture says the glory of the Lord will cover the whole earth. What is that glory? Man’s glory is what he has made of himself, or the things he has made. The wife that he picks is his glory. The glory of the Lord is all of His creation. There is a day coming that everyone will acknowledge everything upon the earth is God’s glory; it’s His labor. God will give glory to you as you labor in what He has given you. That glory is wealth. Verse 15, And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness. The Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment. Those that have allowed the judgment to take place will rejoice because finally they are free from the wicked. Isaiah 6:2, Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Right now the eyes of man do not see the earth as being a glorious thing that came from God. They think it came from an accident. Well, they don’t really think that, they just try to make themselves believe it so they don’t have to serve God. Verse 4, And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Isaiah 8:9, Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces. If you take allegiance with other groups of people to build a big army that’s of man, you’re associating yourself with that group of people that are fighting God and you’re going to be broken to pieces. But if you align yourself with the Lord of hosts you will have victory. All the promises depend on you being part of the Lord of hosts. Verse 18, Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. If we enter into the Lord of hosts we will be signs and wonders to the people on the earth. God wants to increase the signs and wonders. Isaiah, 9:7, Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. Jacob was in the lineage to receive a great reward but it wasn’t until he became Israel that he was able to receive it and begin to function in it. Verse 9, And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycamores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars. Verse 19, Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother. This land is fast becoming dark. Our leaders don’t know what to do. Isaiah 10:16, Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standard bearer fainteth. Matthew 10:28 says to fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. There is more to the soul that is hard to see but God is going to begin to bring it out. The thing that is lacking is God’s spirit. There is nothing wrong with God’s spirit. But there is something wrong with the flesh body. And the soul is left by itself when the spirit of God leaves a body. Only God can destroy both soul and body in hell. He will destroy both soul and body so that it will be no more. The spirit will go back to the One that sent it. Verse 19, And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them. When He gets through with destroying and consuming soul and body there won’t be a whole lot left. Verse 20, And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. The consumption decreed is the removing and destroying of the soul and body of wickedness. There’s coming a time that righteousness is going to overtake the consumption and it will stop. When God’s people rise up in righteousness and have faith that they can come out of where they’re at then God can help them. At that time the death process will cease. Consumption keeps going until it’s gone and there’s nothing left, which is the way the soul and body is. To consume the soul and body is to destroy it. The consumption spirit has already started to eat up the wickedness. The wicked are beginning to lose faith and strength to accomplish what they want on the earth. The consumption will be stopped by the righteousness of God’s people because they will have the power to become sons of God (and kings and priests unto Him – Revelation 1:6). Verse 24, Therefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt. For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction. And the Lord of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt. The Lord of hosts is going to lift up His rod and you will pass through “Red Sea” and see the wicked no more. Verse 27, And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. God wants to bring us to a place of quietness and peace so the world doesn’t scare us anymore. The world is already destined to be destroyed. That world does not bother me. Whatever they do. They can spend trillions of dollars but the bottom line is they are rubbish; they are soul and body and they’re going to be destroyed. The consumption spirit has already begun to eat them up so they have no power, no wealth, or anything. Revelation 19:13, And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. We can be part of the army that is going to ride with God in this last battle. After the last battle we will be in the thousand year reign and it will be fully completed. Those that are left are going to walk in the supernatural. Those that are left will be called holy. They are qualified to be with the Lord of hosts because they are holy. The Lord of hosts is going to make a way for me and you to the end. He said, I’m going to go out ahead of you and prepare your way. If you believe that, you’ll have plenty of food to eat. If you don’t, you may be hungry. The Lord of hosts is the Word of God. The Word of God is accomplished by those that are holy and God will lead us. We are not alone. ![]()
