We want to talk about by far the most important thing that should be in our lives. The most important thing that we can do is love the Lord. If we don’t have a true love for Him and keep it alive through relationship we’re playing with fire because the enemy wants to destroy us. I have different ways of loving Him, thanking Him for inviting me to live with Him forever. In John 3:14, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: What was Jesus talking about? What was the serpent’s job in the wilderness? If they looked at the serpent the plague would be stopped and they would be healed. So Jesus said, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: When you look up at the cross and see Jesus hanging there, He is your healer. Verse 15, That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. What better healing can you have than having eternal life and living with Him forever? If I thought that eternal life is like it is on earth right now, I think I’d just as soon die. But this eternal life has a lot of promises in it that there will be no more sadness and sorrow and weeping and sickness and pain. He’ll take all of that away and we’ll live forever with Him, with projects that are in His heart that He’s not mentioned. That excites me. Verse 16, For God so loved the world… What is the world? The world is not the earth. It’s the creation of all the things that are on the earth. Verse 16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son… The angels were created for a particular job. We as human beings were created in the spiritual realm and then we were birthed at the right time, at the right place, and I believe with the right family. Jesus was the only one that had the genealogies of God the Father in Him, besides the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit was not born like Jesus to have a physical body. So when He says begotten, that’s what He’s talking about. But He breathed into us the breath of life and that breath is the blood. When man fell the blood was contaminated, so Jesus came with pure blood because He was begotten of the Father. Blood comes through the male, not the female. If we drink His blood and eat His flesh we are eating pure, everlasting food. …That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The everlasting life is as long as you live. If you die in everlasting life at that point that you will have eternal life, because you made it through to the end. But if He gave you eternal life now you would never die and you could go do what you wanted to and then he would have a whole bunch of satans in heaven. So everlasting is as long as you are alive. Verse 17, For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world. Why didn’t He send His Son to condemn it? Because we were already condemned. You can’t condemn somebody more than what they already are. If you feel condemned, it wasn’t God who condemned you, it was satan. …But that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Why is it that if you believe in Jesus you can’t be condemned? There can be parts that you haven’t turned over to the Lord and it will condemn you, but the areas He is living in cannot be condemned. That’s the whole purpose of giving your total being to the Lord so you will not be condemned when the enemy comes and tries to speak to you. Verse 19, And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. The reason that condemnation comes on you is because you don’t want the light to shine on you because when it does, you see who you are. Then Jesus said, Men love darkness rather than light because their deeds and desires are evil. Verse 20, For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. Have you ever meditated on that? Why do I do things I don’t want to do? Because you love that evil. You love what satan gives you. It’s death, but at the time it brings you joy to do the things that are evil. It lifts you up in the world but it doesn’t lift you up in heavenly places. People that are bitter are not bitter because of you but because Christ is in you. The reason that people hate you is because Christ is in you and if they can push Christ out of everything then they don’t feel condemned. If you feel condemned it makes you angry. But it’s not you that’s making them angry, it’s Christ that has the light that they are angry at. That’s what it’s saying right here. The reason they killed Jesus is because He has the light that exposes the sin in their soul and in their heart. Verse 20 again, For every one that doeth evil hateth the light... Who is the light? Jesus. …Neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. The light shows you the truth of who you are. The reason that the Father chose to live in gross darkness is because those that live in darkness can’t see Him anyway. So for you to be able to see the Father you have to have light. There were no windows in the temple. The light in the Holy Place was the seven candlesticks, which are the seven senses to see God. He chose to live in gross darkness so the world can’t see Him without believing by faith. For those who believe, He gives you the light of His Son, which came from the Father, which are the seven senses that we can see in the world. We have five physical senses, plus our conscience. The number of man is six, which is seeing, hearing, taste, smell, feeling, and your conscience. But when we are born again we have seven because when Jesus comes in your heart He gives you seven senses to be able to see the Father. Verse 21, But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. You come to the light that your deeds may be made manifest so you can see them; you can see if they were created by God or satan, and then it’s up to you what you do about it. Then in verse 27, John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. This is another extremely important thing to understand. I told a man one time, if you don’t quit what you’re doing you’re going to lose what God wanted to give you. He said, that’s alright. I’ll just get a bigger and better one. That man went shipwrecked. Why? Because it’s not him that gets it by his choosing, it’s the Father that gives it. The only way you’ll get the seven eyes is if the Father sheds the light of His Son upon you, and then you do something about it. Ephesians 2:1, And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; To be quickened is to be taken out of the mess you were in. You were dead in trespasses. When you take over some man’s soul and the soul belongs to God, you take over God’s responsibility and you’re trespassing. Our job is not to save someone’s soul but to point them to Jesus who can save them. If you try to save them, which a lot of people do, it won’t work. The reason is very simple. It takes the love of Jesus to be shed in your hearts so you will not depart from Him. You can preach the best sermon in the world, all about the scripture, but if the light isn’t shed in their hearts, it doesn’t do any good. It’s the light that shows you who you are. If you hear a sermon and the light doesn’t come, you could name fifty people who should hear that message. But the one being preached to is you, for you to look at your life. It says we were dead in our trespasses and sins. Trespassing is taking the place of God in someone’s life; trying to do His work. I’ve had people come up to me and ask how I’m able to handle different situations. I just take them before the Lord and teach them what it is and then it’s up to them because the light was shed. If they don’t want it they can’t get it but I’m not responsible. You are responsible for your soul. It’s between you and God. As long as light is shed upon you and you choose not to look at the light, at what your life is, then it’s not my responsibility. You have chosen and if I would try to make you change I would be trespassing. I’m not God. And then he talks about sins. Sin is directly coming against God, which is rebellion. Verse 2, Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: In this world you can’t get away from the presence of satan. This world is corrupted and the air is polluted. Every time you breathe there is the potential to be polluted. The only way that you will not be polluted and affected is to not react to anything that the enemy tries to bring to you. That’s what peace is. If you react you are taken into the courts of satan and you have to battle it. He’s come to try to find someone that he can devour. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy. That’s where the enemy is trying to get you and you need to understand every day you get up the enemy is going to try to steal, kill. and destroy. But he won’t be able to if you keep your peace. Let’s read verse 2 again, Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: There is a prince that is in the air that’s everywhere. That’s why it’s so difficult once something is introduced into a society for it to go back. Like what president Obama did for eight years. He introduced horrible powers of the air into our nation and it is very difficult now to get them out because people like it. Verse 3, Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. When you walk in rebellion towards God, you’re walking in the wrath of God. That’s what it says and I’ve known it to be true. Verse 4, But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us. The beginning of everything for me was when the Lord came to me after seeking Him for months. I sought Him without rest, even going all night studying. I never went to bed one night, because I was so desperate to know if what I heard a preacher say was true. He came in the room and the light shown and He said, Can you trust Me to do the right thing? And when He said that, His love flowed in my being; to this day my love has grown for Him that I can trust Him without having to know what’s going to happen. I trust Him because I felt His love. It’s an overpowering love that you can’t experience with human beings; only God the Father and His Son. Verse 5, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,(by grace are ye saved;) When you are born again, even though you have many things wrong with you, Jesus quickened you together with Christ. By grace you are saved. When He finally decides that you really want Him, He will attach Himself to you, and it’s because of His grace; you don’t deserve anything the way you were. You don’t deserve it but because of His love, He said, if you really want Me, I will come and I will attach Myself to you and help you get out of where you’re at. That’s what it means to be quickened. Verse 6, And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That’s what He did for me, and if He did it for me, He will certainly do it for you. He raised me up and made me sit. Isn’t that an interesting little word? He made us. Have you ever seen a new road made? This summer they took an old road grader with a chisel behind it and they went up and down the road and chiseled everything up and then they mulched it, leveled it up, and put asphalt on top of it. They totally destroyed that road and then they put a whole new pavement. That’s what it means to be made in Christ Jesus. He tears up all of our junk and He makes us, because we are the clay and He’s the potter. He makes you the way He wants you to be if you want Him. Verse 7, That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Paul says it’s going to take you ages and ages to see the full grace that He’s shown upon you. Verse 8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: We have to have faith. How do you know if you have faith? When a new level of faith comes, no matter how small or big it is, the things around you become less desirable. When that desire of the world or the desires of your flesh begin to melt away and you’re looking at Him, that’s new faith. And if you stay in that faith, that thing that you loved that isn’t Him will eventually go away to where it’s not affecting you anymore at all. That’s what faith is. That’s how you know you’re growing in faith. Faith saves you from the world. Faith melts away the world and in your response, you’re focused upon Him and what He says and His light so you can see and let go so that it becomes a faster process. Verse 6 again, And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You need to know that you know that you were created to live in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That builds faith in you so the things of this world become shadows in the light of Him. Verse 7, That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Now after reading that the second time you should already start to see a greater melting away. Verse 11, Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel. That faith that I described is the spiritual circumcision of the heart. It is the circumcision that the Old Testament wanted but couldn’t have because Christ hadn’t come yet. But we can receive the circumcision of the heart that melts it away so we are then lifted out of this world; not our physical body, but our spiritual body because it says that we were quickened together where Christ is. Christ is not on the earth, He is still in the heavens. Luke 7:50, And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Faith without works is dead. Faith is believing in God, that He will remove by grace the things of the world. The works that we do are to remove the world. Our works are dying to ourselves and letting the faith grow. When we die to the world is when the things of the world become shadows in the light of God, and that’s when faith begins to really grow and increase. As your faith grows and increases you are able to do more things for Him. But faith without works is no faith at all. Light has faith in it. Faith has light in it. Whichever way you want to look at it. So when faith comes and you don’t do anything about it, by what it shows you through the light, then your faith is really not faith. You believe that He exists but if you don’t do anything your belief is dead. That’s why it says in Hebrews that we are to labor to enter into His rest. That’s your labor. To remove the things that offend God so that when you approach God He’s not offended. Have you ever experienced someone that tells you one thing but does another, and then comes back and says, yes, I did what you said? That’s offensive. It’s offensive to God too. When you say you’re going to do something, He expects it to be done. God speaks in Isaiah and says you have wonderful words but your heart is not in any of it. John 10:7, Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. What does a door mean? It means there are walls somewhere. If there are no walls you don’t need a door. A door means something. If that door is closed you have no business going in there. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. If any man enters in that place he’s going to be saved. If you open your heart and let Him come in by grace to save you, you’ll make it. Verse 10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Satan wants everything open so he can come in and do whatever he wants. We have laws in our land to protect our borders but they’re trying to destroy our borders that satan can come in and they will no longer feel condemnation. Romans 5:9, Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. What happens if you are justified by His blood? To be justified means that He has removed whatever you did that was offensive to Him and now you have a right to approach God. It means to have our sins forgiven and for us to have the ability to enter in where He’s at so that Christ can make us what He wants us to be. Verse 10, For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Jesus died for us, and if we believe Him, we are reconciled to enter into God’s presence that we might be justified being in Him and feeding upon Him. Justification means the sins are being removed and reconciled means He gives us the right to come in through the door, and if we come in through the door the Lord knows our heart. Romans 8:24, For we are saved by hope: But hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. I have promises that God gave me thirty years ago that are just now being fulfilled. When I receive them, the hope of it dissolves away, and He gives me new hope. When He gives us a new hope it keeps us going. It’s hope that gets you to the next step. Hope that you’re going to make it and get it accomplished. When it’s accomplished you don’t hope for it anymore because you got it. Then God comes along and gives you new hope of a new assignment and you stay in the hope for that to come to pass. 1 Corinthians 3:15, If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. When I got sick of me being in charge, all of my wealth that I had I lost through the burning. Because I couldn’t do it on my own anymore, I said, God I don’t want that, I want You. And He saved me. Many of you have experienced the wealth of heaven here on the earth, but have you put the wealth in heavenly places? Some people think that if you become wealthy and you have prosperous ways that you’re probably going to be rich in heaven too. That’s not the case. The work that you do for Him in what He assigned you to is where the wealth is; not on the earth. If any man’s work shall be burned, he himself is going to suffer loss. The loss is not eternal but it’s the temporal and worldly things. If he suffers loss and that loss causes him to abandon wanting wealth and begin to seek God, he will be saved. The way he is going to be saved is through God burning up all of his wealth. If you fall on the Rock, God won’t take your physical wealth away from you. But if the Rock falls on you, which it did me, you’ll lose everything and start over. That’s the difference. I have said many times, I hope nobody has to go through what I had to, because the Rock fell on me. I had nothing left of who I was before. It was all gone. Then it was just me and God. That’s what it means to have the Rock fall on you and crush you, until even the powder is blown away and it’s all gone. After it was gone I was tested again to see if I really wanted God or I wanted prosperity. But I’m not angry at God, because He saved me by taking me through the fire. The choice is between you and God. People don’t want to be responsible for their actions, but the truth is you’re responsible for your own actions. If God raises you up and says this is what you’re going to be, I can guarantee you, that’s what you’ll be and nobody can stop it. God is God and He’s quickening us up into heavenly places to make us become kings and priests in Christ Jesus.
