I want to talk about the Word of God. To get where we need to be we must believe without doubting the Word of God. There is nothing more powerful than that. What I want to do is help us to understand that the Word was made flesh, that is, the Spirit was made so that the flesh could understand the Word and transfer it into the covenant with Him in our hearts. I’ve preached for years that you have to get it in your mind, but don’t leave it there. Put the Word in the covenant of your heart, and then it becomes spirit. That’s what the covenant is all about. It’s a walk of the spirit. Jesus came and He brought the Word of God to us in flesh so that we can transfer it back to the spirit and not keep it in the flesh because in the flesh it’s law. When we know the Word, we put that knowing into our hearts and we don’t have to keep learning it in our mind. We have the seven eyes that are capable of transferring that which is spirit to our physical body. That’s how in the physical we know. There are things we know in the spirit but our mind doesn’t know them. But for us to know everything, the word of God had to become flesh. And Jesus did that for us. This brings a whole new level of thankfulness that Jesus came so we might understand. Because Jesus came in the flesh, our flesh can understand the Word and then transfer it into the covenant of the heart where it becomes a part of who we are. So it was mind opening for me to realize that wow, if I’m going to get this, I have to get it in my mind first, and then it is transferred to my spirit. So what I want to talk about has to start in John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John goes on to say that Jesus was the light of man, but man didn’t recognize the light, because they were in law and they wanted to stay there. Law is rules and regulations without fellowship with God. They were able to follow the law and they just became rigid. It was extremely difficult for any of the religious leaders to transfer from the old covenant to the message of Jesus. So it is today for those who are in perdition to come into the realm of the spirit. You know how difficult that is, and how unteachable they are, because they are fearful of relationship. That’s one of the reasons why texting and all of the social media comes about; because you’re afraid of relationship. You want to know what is going on in everybody’s life, so everyone texts back and forth what they are doing, and you can say it any way you want to, and be who you want to be, without relating on a real basis. Verse 14, And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. So the Word became flesh and God first of all gave us grace, because He put that which is Spirit into the physical, that which is impossible for you to live except you’re transformed. So the period of transformation from the flesh to the spirit is the area of grace that you need while the transfer takes place. Grace isn’t the right for you to sin or to do what you want, grace is for that period for you to transfer that which is a fleshly attitude to the spiritual attitude of living and thinking out of your spirit rather than out of your mind. When that takes place then out of your inner being comes living water. It’s the only way you can get it. There isn’t any other way. Verse 17 then says, For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Because the Word became flesh, and it dwelt among us, we beheld its glory; that is, that of the Spirit. John 4:50-52 shows us the power of the word of God: Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way. And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, thy son liveth. Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. That was exactly the time that Jesus said, “He is well.” He believed and the power of the spirit transferred. When you believe the word of God, you transfer from the flesh to the covenant and the covenant then explodes. All things are then yours to attain as long as you, by the spirit, increase the kingdom of God. That’s the way it transfers and you get it. Once you have the word in your spirit, if someone teaches in the spirit, and you begin to believe and to soak that in, you actually take on a level of eternity. For a period of time, you come out of the world and the death of the world, and experience eternity. Eternity is forever. There is no time. We can go from this world into the world that is yet to come and function and fellowship as the deposit of that which will always be. That is what believing can do. You have to believe to transfer from law to the spirit. It’s not possible to do it any other way. You can’t do it by memorizing, you can’t do it by just reading it every day, although reading every day helps you if you want the understanding of the covenant that is in you, when it grabs hold of it and knows it, then it can stay with you for the rest of your life and at any time the Holy Spirit can draw that out of you. But it has to be deposited in you before you can draw it out. John 5:24, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. There it is, the transfer. You transfer from the physical to the eternal. That’s exactly what He is saying here. Verse 25, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Those that HEAR the word of God, that have learned how to transfer that which they hear into their covenant with God, shall live. Verse 38, And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Without Jesus you can’t have the word become flesh so you can understand it and transfer it into the covenant. Verse 39-40, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. To have living water, have life, have eternal life, have everlasting life, all of those things come by transferring, Jesus making it in the flesh so that we can receive that which is spiritual in us, through this new covenant. But we have to go and hear the word in the physical, transfer it into the spirit, and then it abides in us and if we think out of the covenant of our heart we will always be...That’s why John says, if God is living in you, you cannot continue to sin. That’s how he can say that. He recognized the transferring. John 8:31, Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus then? It’s totally changed, because if we continue in His word then we are His disciple. He will bring heaven to the flesh, you transfer it, and put Him in there, and He will live in you. If you keep the word in you, then you abide in Him, and when you go about and you find someone that has the word of God in them, you’ll recognize it, they will recognize you, and you have fellowship with each other. But if they come against you, they are coming against you because they never had the transferring of the Word of God from the flesh, which is law, to the Spirit, which only comes through Jesus through grace and truth. So Jesus says in verse 31-32, …If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. So you will have the truth transferred from your flesh to the spirit and because you are then living in the spirit, you are living in the covenant of God; that is, the words from heaven transferred into us so that we are regenerated into a whole new being. Isn’t that a little bit more than saying four little sentences to be saved? Verse 43, Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. It is Jesus that transfers the spiritual to the physical and back to the spiritual. Only Jesus. If you can’t believe His word, if you don’t grab ahold of the commandments and the promises that He has given you, then that word is not in you until you receive it and believe it and begin to activate it, by listening to the spirit and not to your mind. Smith Wigglesworth was one of the greatest people in our time that functioned this way. He may not have known it the way I’m saying, but he knew it. He refused to even have a newspaper in his house. He would read the word of God, and every 15 minutes he would refresh himself, because he lived in this world. To keep Christ alive and fully growing in him, full of faith, of the kingdom of God and His word, he would stop and read the word just for a verse, and then while he was plumbing he would meditate on it. He realized that’s what it took for him to stay where he needed to be. John 12:48-50, He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. He is reaffirming the fact that everything the Father gave Him has life in it, and if you don’t receive the words the Father gave Him, then you don’t have life. John 14:24, He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. Jesus said, I’m going to watch you, and if you don’t do what I ask you to do I know you don’t love Me. You may say you do. It’s kind of like the popular thing to say today is “have a good day.” How much energy did it take to say, “have a good day?” Just a very little. If there is no life in it, it’s just a saying. Well if there is no life in you loving God, and you say, “God, I love you,” it’s just the same as, “Have a nice day God.” It isn’t anything else. Can you understand that? You have to have meat on your “I love you Lord,” or it’s just a “have a nice day.” John 15:3, Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. The word is grace and truth, which washes us. Then He spends the rest of chapter 15 teaching you how to abide in Him, and the importance of it, and that you can do nothing except that you are tied to the vine and that you feed from the vine, which is the covenant of your heart. That’s where you live. To live in the spirit is to live in the covenant and the treasures that are in your heart are the treasures of heaven, the word of God. If the word of God is in you, it is preparing, it is growing in you that which God wants done in your life, and you will find yourself two years later a totally different person because the life that is in you of the kingdom and the word of God is alive and doing a work in you. You may say, I just wish I knew what I am called to do. But if you’ve done what you’re supposed to do, you don’t have to worry about it, it’s growing. The will of God is growing because you received His word, and the reason that you don’t know what it is is because it comes from something that doesn’t exist. That’s what it says in Hebrews. We’ll look at it a little later so you can walk in power and begin to believe. Sin is unbelief. The Holy Spirit comes to convince you that if you believe then all these things will begin to transfer and Jesus and the Father will be living in you and the kingdom of God will begin to grow in you and you will be established and planted in the kingdom of God. John 17:6, I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Jesus says, Father, you gave Me these men that were Yours, and they have kept My word. Do you know what that means? That means they are no longer under law. They have taken that which is spirit, given to them through grace and truth, and the new covenant is being built in them. They will be faithful because they have kept the word and it’s growing in them, so now all Jesus has to do is pray, Lord keep them in that place to where they can mature and become mighty people of God upon the earth. Verse 14-15, I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. The reason that you’re not liked is because you convict them by just your lifestyle. That’s what Jesus said would happen. As I look back the things that happened in my life is because of that very reason. They hated me without a cause, and they hated Jesus without a cause. But Jesus said, don’t worry about someone hating you. They don’t really hate you, they hate Me in you. So expect that to happen. Verse 17, Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth. We are sanctified by the word of God, which is truth. What does sanctifying do? It sets us apart from the world and it convicts them of what they are doing, so they try to destroy you so they won’t be convicted. Verse 20, Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; Isn’t that something? Not only can the word of God be transferred from Christ to you, but when you are living in the spirit, you can transfer life from you into someone else, because you don’t touch it. You are just obedient to it. You transfer it. Jesus prayed that we will transfer that which was taught in the word to someone else as vessels unto Him. There are three ways that you can hear from God. One is, Him speaking to you, secondly, the written word, and thirdly, someone with life in them speaks to you. Hebrews 1:3, Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. He was in the brightness of His Father’s glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word, or the power that is in His word. He upholds all things by the word of His power. The reason it says the word of His power is, it puts the emphasis on the Word, and not power. If it was the power of His word, then I have power to speak a word. No, the Word gives me power. Hebrews 2:2, For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; When the angels spoke and brought judgment to a group of people, it happened. So he says, if angels can make it happen, think of what the Son of God and the Father in you can do! But you have to believe it. So you see how important this is to bring us into the realm of the supernatural in such a way that we walk in pure, holy righteousness in the power of God. Hebrews 4:2, For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. So you can say, “This was an awesome sermon,” but if you don’t mix faith with it, it doesn’t have any value. It profits you nothing. It’s not worth anything, because it will be gone. Because you didn’t put it into your eternal memory. So it doesn’t profit you anything unless you mix it with faith. Verse 3, For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. The works were finished before they began. All the seeds that he wanted to put in you and me were already done before He created anything. It’s just a matter of who He can find that He can place that seed in and get fruit. That’s what He is after. The Lord showed me that very early in my walk with Him. For years I said, Lord if you can’t find someone to do that, put it on me. I’ll do it. Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. That goes back to being sanctified. This is a word of sanctification. That’s what verse 12 is. It separates that which is flesh and what is spirit, and if you function out of the covenant of God in you, then it’s much easier to be able to see what is right and what is wrong, because the spirit of truth is in you to be able to see what is right and what isn’t. But we have to let God do it. We can’t push Him back and hold Him at a distance. Hebrews 5:13, For everyone that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. If you are still on milk, your skill of using the word of God is really not very profitable. You need to start growing up and become rooted and grounded. The anchor of your soul is the hope of God. Hebrews 6:5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come. To taste the good word of God is to walk in the power of God and see Him perform through you as a vessel to do His will. It doesn’t get any better than that. No matter how small or how big it is. When God is in it, it’s big. Hebrews 11:3, Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Just think, by the spoken word of God, this earth and everything in it was framed and it holds together to this day. So why is it that we don’t have faith that God can take that same word and speak it and bring it in you and perform what He wants done in you. You’re really in poverty if you don’t believe the word of God. The whole world is framed by the word of God. And then He gives you the word of God and you say “I can’t do it.” He says, “I know you can’t, just get it in your spirit and I’ll do it.” You’re in real poverty, if you can’t believe the word of God, if you look at it in that light. Hebrews 12:19, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more. That goes back to when the children of Israel came across the Red Sea and God came up on the mountain and God spoke to the people but they were so fearful that they said, don’t let God speak to us again. We can’t handle it. God, you speak to Moses and Moses can speak to us. Moses walked with the word of God in him, but the rest of them refused to because it was too frightening for them. But Jesus came as our high priest to help us overcome the fear of approaching God and letting God do a work in us. Hebrews 13:7, Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. The one that has the word of God in them, his faith follows what he spoke, helping you to enter into that place. A truly committed man or woman of God speaks life and is willing to help until you are able to understand and come into that place of life in you like it is in them. So the faith of the person who speaks the word of God, and that includes every one of you that speak the word of God to someone else, your faith follows along with them to help them have faith and to have faith grow in them to become men and women of God. The true people of God are those who have received the word, put it in their heart, and allowed the Word of power to transform and change all of who they are. May His Word be so transferred in our beings that there would once again be the reality and standard of the strong, true, power of God in the earth. Psalm 119:11, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
