...if you are wise, you are wise for your own journey to get where you need to be. Every person has to have wisdom to get where they were created to be from the beginning. And if you don’t have that wisdom, how are you going to get there? You have to have wisdom to carry you where you need to go. We want to look in Proverbs. The first nine chapters are all about the seven eyes of God. We are going to start in chapter 8:1, Doth not wisdom cry? And understanding put forth her voice? Jesus came to give us wisdom and understanding. The “her” here is the church. Even in the Old Testament God called His people a her, because Jesus is going to come and be the bridegroom and the church is the bride. Wisdom cries out and understanding puts forth her voice. The Lord speaks through wisdom and understanding. Verse 8, All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. The words of wisdom are right, sound, and truthful, and come from the word of God, because God is righteous. If we allow Him in our hearts we become righteous too, because then He takes over. Abraham received righteousness because he believed, and in that believing he obeyed. …there is nothing froward or perverse in them. His words are not froward; bragging or saying something that he didn’t do. And perverse is what satan is; making something that is good, evil. Metal or stone is not evil, it’s how you use it that becomes evil. Verse 9, They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. Verse 19, My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness… Wisdom will lead you in the way of righteousness if you obey him. …in the midst of the paths of judgment. Judgment in its mildest form is saying, go this way and not that way. Choose this and not that. Verse 21, That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance… Substance has to do with eternal blessings and wealth. I don’t know how wealthy I am but I know I’m very wealthy because the Lord has led me for many years in wisdom to obtain wealth. I walk in a place of inheriting eternal substance. And you can do that too, if the desire of your heart is not gold and silver, but inheriting substance. …and I will fill their treasures. The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. This will help you understand where the seven eyes came from and how they developed. The Lord possessed wisdom in the beginning of His ways. Wisdom was there to help create the earth and all that’s in it. Verse 23, I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. The spirit of wisdom was set up. That set up has to do with God putting in him His giftings, or a part of Him. Each of the seven spirits of God has a part of Him in them. They are listed out in Isaiah 11:2. They were set up so that they had great authority to help God with whatever it was He wanted to have done. Wisdom says, I was here before the earth was, so I know all about the earth. I know how it was made. I know how it operates. I know the secrets of the earth that God put in it. And he is willing to help us. He has the qualifications to make us wealthy in inheritance in the kingdom of God, but not the kingdom of the earth, because it is corrupt. If you walk in wisdom, you will walk in eternal wealth. 1 John 4:17, Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. Whatever Christ was like on the earth, because He was flesh and blood, we can be like Him. That’s the reason wisdom is here: to teach mankind how to walk perfect before Him and acquire and receive that which God promised from the very beginning. As Jesus was, we are. Jesus was the Light of the world, which are the seven candlesticks. So we are the light of the world if we walk in wisdom, and he leads us into righteousness, which is the power to resist the gods of this world and not walk in fear of them. You can’t have any power over them if you walk in fear of them. Back to Proverbs 8, verse 24, When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. Wisdom was there before all that took place. Verse 30, Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. He was set up, and he was brought to help the earth fulfill God’s will. And He’s looking for those that are willing to be led by His character, which is the seven spirits, so they can inherit what He saw and wanted to give from before the foundations were. Verse 32, Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord. When we allow wisdom to guide us, we walk in the favor of the Lord. Now let’s look at Proverbs 9. This is the heart of the message. Proverbs 9:1, Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars. Wisdom has built the church house. Seven represents perfect, and the seven eyes, and the pillars represent that which holds your protection over you, covering from the rain and storm. Verse 2, She hath killed her beasts… She has killed all of the things of the world that try to pull her away from getting her inheritance. A beast is one that labors for either the kingdom of God or the kingdom of satan. If you look in Revelation, satan has beasts and God has beasts, which are spirits that labor for the cause of what it was sent for. In this case, Solomon is saying that wisdom has killed the beasts of this house. …she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. What we are going to find out as we go through this chapter is he begins to prophesy of Christ. The wine that is mingled is mingled with bread, which is what we do to remember what the spirit of wisdom, which is the character of God, has done for the church; that is, helped her to kill the beasts that are driving her. When you are driven you can’t hear God. He’s not going to run after you and scream in your ear. You have to come broken and quiet and peaceful before Him before you can hear Him. If these beasts are driving you, you won’t be able to hear Him. The closer you get to Him the quieter He becomes. The wine represents Christ’s blood and His body represents good food. The two mingled together have great power. Verse 3, She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city. If we are being led by the spirit of wisdom, we are wisdom’s maidens going forth throughout the earth preaching wisdom. That’s the setting for the church, what wisdom has done for the church if they want it. Verse 4, Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither. A simple person is one that doesn’t really know anything but they think they know everything. They know the wisdom of the vine of the earth but they don’t know the wisdom of the vine of Christ. We have millions of people in the United States who are simple. They are running after something that has no eternal destiny to it. It’s only temporal. But God is saying wisdom will lead you to eternal wealth that lasts forever. Let’s look at Matthew 11:25, At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. Those that don’t have wisdom don’t have light to see. All of the seven spirits have a candle, but satan has no candle. He’s not the light of the world. He is the darkness of the world and walks in darkness. Those that walk in darkness fall in a ditch. Proverbs 9:4, …as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. That is the teachings of Jesus. Matthew 26:26, And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. He mingled the bread and the wine together so that they are one. We first eat of the bread that brings life to us, then we drink the wine, which represents revelation. Life comes to us because the power of sin is broken, so you can get rid of it. Verse 6, Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. By the end of chapter 9 you will understand why not to hang around simple foolish people. Simple foolish people are running after gold and silver that has no value when you die. But wise people go after the inheritance of eternal wealth. Isn’t that a lot of difference between a foolish person and a wise person? Verse 7, He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Don’t rebuke a wicked person. If you do, you’ll shut him off right there, and you’re nothing but a blot. He will blot you out and you won’t count for anything. No matter what you say it’s not going to be worth anything. Verse 8, Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. A wise man that is rebuked knows that you’re helping him get the eternal wealth, and he’s happy you did it. But if you rebuke a scorner he just thinks you’re jealous, because he’s going after money. That’s why it says don’t give holy things to swine. You clean up a pig and they will go back to the mud hole, which represents the old life. Verse 9, Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser. In the beginning of Proverbs it says that if you are rebuked for something or someone helps you overcome something, and you begin to understand it, then add that to the understanding you already have. If someone wants to wipe out all of your understanding, get away from them, because they want to put their place in you. Don’t get rid of the things you have tested and know to be true. But if someone has already removed some of the beasts that are in them, and they are able to help you see another beast that is trying to carry you off, then you can get rid of it and you are happy that he did it for you. That was my attitude from the day the Lord called me. When someone would come and tell me things I should change I would always say, Lord, what part of that is in me? And then He would show me. I would let the thinking of man go, but what he saw and said that was truth I labored to get rid of until it was gone. Verse 9, Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. When someone points out something you need to change so you can walk in greater righteousness you will increase in learning. Verse 10, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: I can teach you about wisdom but you have to receive it from God to be wise. Therefore, if you are wise, you are wise for your own journey to get where you need to be. Every person has to have wisdom to get where they were created to be from the beginning. And if you don’t have that wisdom, how are you going to get there? You have to have wisdom to carry you where you need to go. If you’re wise, you’re going to take that wisdom for yourself, not pointing fingers at others with it. We all have to find wisdom for our path, so we can get where we are going. …but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. If you scorn, you’re going to have to find your way yourself because the spirit of wisdom won’t be there with you. You’re going to bear everything alone, and most people do. That’s why they’re fearful and not sure of themselves. They don’t know for sure what’s going on. They just hope they are somehow going to make it. No, the only way you’re going to know is to have wisdom for yourself to get where you need to be. Then you can help others because you have experience, but they still have to make the journey themselves. Verse 13, A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. The only thing she knows is to woo in some foolish man. Verse 14, For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, To call passengers who go right on their ways. It’s not talking about the house where she lives; in this case her house is a sanctuary. She’s in a high place of the city. She’s out there on the highway and she’s watching the people that go by who are on a journey and she’s trying to woo them in. She’s a prostitute. Verse 16, Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Stolen waters are sweet. Water has life in it. But if someone steals you from having understanding, they’re stealing the waters of life from you. …and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. They steal the waters from you and you give your body to what? Verse 18, But he (the passenger that is going along the road) knoweth not that the dead are there. He turned in to a place where the dead were because the waters were stolen and don’t have life in them. …and that her guests are in the depths of hell. Is that where you want to be? That’s where foolish people are. This is only one example of it. Foolish people try to pull you out of being on the journey of wisdom to inherit eternity with wealth. That’s why God spoke in Proverbs 9 to stay away from them. All they want to do is steal what you are trying to inherit for eternity. That’s why much of the church is going to hell today. They are looking for their flesh to be satisfied. In the end, Solomon got carried away by wicked women, doing the very thing he taught not to do. Just because you have eyes to see, you have to have judgment with it to make the right choice. Revelation 2:18, And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass. His eyes are like a flame of fire, like a furnace. He’s coming with revenge. He came in peace, but is returning with vengeance. His feet are fine brass, which is sin judged. He’s going to judge your sin. Verse 20, Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. When a person lives off of someone else through witchcraft and deceit and then tries to own the soul, which jezebel did, God hates it. He hated jezebel so bad that He had the dogs eat her body and He said the only tombstone jezebel is going to have is the dog residue in the field. Fornication has three levels; idolatry, adultery, and whoredoms. The “her” here has to do with the church. The church that serves the world is in fornication against God and it’s difficult to come out of that. It takes everything you have and years of letting go, to not use all the devices to own the husband or the wife. And if it’s really bad, you will see the joy leave the one that is being drained by their mate. Verse 22, Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. He’s talking to the church here. The world is already condemned. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world but to save that which is lost. Here the Lord is showing John that God watches the reins. If the Holy Spirit or the spirit of wisdom is there to guide you and you refuse to go that way, you are entering into a dangerous place of fornication, and that’s grounds for divorce. Matthew says except for fornication you’re not to divorce. But if your woman or your man falls into fornication, then you can get rid of them. Verse 24, But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. We read in Proverbs about her way leading you to the depths of hell. Here is the same thing. Most of the time it’s the woman manipulating the man to get her way, but it can be the other way around. I hope you will increase your cry for the spirit of wisdom, because you need two things. You need the righteousness of God and judgment, and wisdom gives you both of them. He will lead you in the paths of righteousness, and in the ways, which is correct judgment, to find your place that God created for you to be on the earth. If you don’t get there, He may have to say, I don’t know you. You’re not what I created you to be so I don’t recognize you. May it grip your hearts to be loyal to the spirit of wisdom, that you might get understanding to know the knowledge of the Father’s will. Holy Father, we come before You as Your children. Lord, one of Your attributes is the spirit of wisdom. I pray that You would send and allow the spirit of wisdom to do a real work in this people, that they might walk in righteousness and in judgment, to do and to know that which is right; that they might make it through to the end and inherit the wealth of heaven. Now Lord, write upon their hearts the righteousness and judgment that comes from You. Amen.
